Not Summer- Paddy

I know I live in England, and I know that this means an entirely underwhelming summer is to be expected weather wise, but today is just making a mockery of the very concept of summer. It is August (if you weren't aware) and in the south of England we just had a full on thunderstorm with thunder, obviously, and lightening and torrential rain pouring down. It was even worse in the northern parts of England, with a football game in Sunderland being called off due to the waterlogged pitch. This clearly shows its been pretty effing wet today and the exact opposite of how summer should be. Normally at this time we have a half-hearted hosepipe ban and all the chavvy men in Farnborough walk around with their shirts off and slung over 1 shoulder. This has not happened at all apart from for 2 days in the middle of last week. I was forced to wear flip-flops in England. That's how summer should be. Not a monsoon-esque downpour that risks drowning those who keep their mouths open.
