A good day's sport- Paddy

Today was the Grand National. It is a big deal in the UK. I had £4 on Seabass and Tharaawat (?) and £2 on Junior. Alex had various amounts of money on Cappa Bleu, Ballabriggs and Killyglen. As it finished, the race was won by some randomer called Neptune Collonges, which was highly underwhelming for me. What was less underwhelming, however, was the fact that Seabass came third, which meant my each way bet will return me roughly £16 as I managed to sneak my bet in on odds of 16-1 before his odds were slashed. Alex is also reasonably happy as  Cappa Bleu came back strongly to finish in 4th, and, as he too bet each way, will return him some monies. It's more or less win-win, if you can count third and fourth as winning.
Also in sport today, Charlton Athletic, who are the football team I support, don't judge me, clinched promotion from League One to the Championship. This means I am very happy. Next month I am going to Charlton's last home match of the season and hopefully I will see them be crowned Champions of the division. That would be quite nice as I was not old enough to see their last promotion and have only witnessed relegation.
